I'm Ahsan Khokhar, and I've spent the last 15 years living in Ward 7. This is the community I grew up in, and it has shaped who I am today. It's where I built my roots, my relationships, and my understanding of what matters most to the people who live here.
Ward 7 is home, and it's where I feel a strong responsibility to give back.
Early Involvement in the Community
My interest in public service began when I served as the Youth Councillor for Ward 7. That experience gave me a first-hand look at how local government works and how much it impacts everyday life. It also showed me how important it is for residents to feel heard and represented.
That early experience stayed with me and continues to guide how I think about leadership today.
Education
I completed both my Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Law and Society at York University. My education helped me better understand how government, policy, and legal systems affect real people in their day-to-day lives.
More importantly, it shaped my belief that good leadership is about understanding people first, not just policies.
Professional Experience
I currently work as a Senior Consultant in the legal field. In my role, I work with individuals and families from different backgrounds, helping them navigate complex situations and find practical solutions.
This work has strengthened my ability to listen carefully, understand different perspectives, and focus on solutions that actually help people.
Community and Political Involvement
Beyond my professional career, I have also been involved in provincial and federal election campaigns. These experiences gave me a closer look at how communities engage with politics and how important it is for leaders to stay connected to the people they serve.
They also reinforced my belief that strong leadership comes from being present, engaged, and accountable.
Why Ward 7 Matters to Me
Ward 7 is not just where I live. It is the place that shaped my values, my work ethic, and my commitment to public service.
Everything I've done so far has prepared me to serve this community and help move it forward in a meaningful way.
